It was another frustrating night for Juventus in La Liga, with a second consecutive defeat for the Serie A side, while they ended up with just two shots on target.
After a hard-fought first half, the Bianconeri finally took the lead after just eight minutes when Sergio Gomes fired wide from a free-kick from a cross from the right.
But the hosts failed to respond as the Colombian side went in search of a third goal and the visitors were fortunate not to have to wait long to find the net as it was the home side who found the net in the 53rd minute.
It was all for naught as the hosts were unable to hold on and ended up losing 2-1 on aggregate.
Juventus head coach Diego Simeone was unhappy with the way his side started, however, and he felt that his side were unable for any reason to force the game.
“I thought we were unable on the whole to play our game,” he said.
“The first half we were in a good mood and I think we deserved to be up.
But after that we had a difficult start.”
In the second half we weren’t able to make any difference, we were down to seven men and the second goal was the only one we could score.
“The loss leaves Juventus only seven points behind Barcelona, who remain top of La Liga after a win over Sevilla.
