Albuquerque is one of the hottest places in the country, according to weather reports from the National Weather Service.
The weather service said this week that Albuquerque had the highest average temperature of the season, at 86 degrees.
The previous record was held by Albuquerque, New Mexico, where it set at 87 degrees in March.
Albuquerque has experienced more than 20 days of record highs since mid-April, when temperatures were at or near 95 degrees.
This past Sunday was the hottest day of the year, and the weather service recorded a temperature of 87 degrees at 7:25 a.m.
The average daily maximum temperature on Sunday was 88 degrees, according the Weather Service’s website.
Weather service meteorologist Scott Ritter said this was the first time since January that Albuquerque has recorded more than 1 degree of daily maximum temperatures.
“It is rare to have a day where you have a temperature that’s over 90 degrees,” Ritter told the Albuquerque Journal.
Ritter said the record high temperature was the result of a storm that dumped up to 30 inches of rain in the city.
Some people reported temperatures in the upper 70s, which means the temperature is a little warmer than normal for Albuquerque, according in the Albuquerque Observer.
