Time magazine’s annual Best of 2018 list has been released, and the new season brings the likes of “Wonder Woman” and “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” to the attention of film lovers across the country.
Here are 10 films that really stood out, as well as some movies you might not have seen on the big screen before.
“Wonder Women” (2017)Directed by Patty Jenkins, a movie that will probably make more people cry than a box office failure.
It’s the story of a girl who falls in love with a man who has powers that make him invincible.
It features an impressive cast of supporting characters and an incredibly strong ensemble, but it’s the romance that will make you cry.
“Rogue 1: A Dark New Hope” (2016)An ensemble that includes some of the best performances of the year.
The film is set during World War II and takes place in a futuristic city in the Pacific, where aliens have come to earth.
It stars an amazing cast, including Amy Adams, Liam Hemsworth, Max von Sydow, Jena Malone, and a stunning performance by Alicia Vikander.
“The Revenant” (2015)This isn’t a new film, but there is something very familiar about the sound of a roaring fire in the distance as you watch it in your rearview mirror.
The movie follows the exploits of a hunter who is traveling with a pack of wolves and a team of hunters that includes one of the most iconic actors in Hollywood: Leonardo DiCaprio.
He plays a wild dog named Jack, who is killed by a wolf.
“Fury” (2018)The best action film of 2018, and an emotional roller coaster for its two leads.
When a soldier’s daughter is captured by the Nazis, he is forced to sacrifice himself to save her.
His sacrifice is celebrated with an epic sequence that will send shockwaves through audiences.
“Logan” (2013)It’s a bit hard to imagine the last time you watched “Lone Survivor,” which was a true American film.
The action scenes in this film were the best action sequences of the 20th century, and it’s no coincidence that “Lorenzo” is considered the most famous American action film.
“Moonrise Kingdom” (2014)The movie stars the best supporting cast of the season, and its story is filled with action and heart.
It includes a great performance from Meryl Streep and a surprising ending that makes you question your life choices and the meaning of love.
“Pitfall” (2005)The story of this movie is pretty straightforward: You’re a small-town sheriff trying to save a pregnant girl.
She’s a woman who has been kidnapped by a group of men, and your only hope is to rescue her.
You have to navigate your way through some intense action sequences and some pretty cheesy characters.
“Jackie Brown” (2006)It doesn’t have much in the way of action, but its character is the most heartbreaking and poignant of all time.
You’ve got the story about Jackie Brown (played by Terrence Howard) who has a bad habit of making bad decisions, and when you get to see her try to change them, it’s a really sad and emotional movie.
“Memento” (2002)If you have a fondness for horror films, you’ve probably seen this movie.
This is a movie about a boy and his mother who are separated at birth.
One day, he’s taken to a haunted house and meets a girl named Dora (Miguel Ángel Esparza).
After hearing his mother’s story, she takes him back to the house where he was raised.
She leaves the room, and he sees her face.
She then goes back to her house and tells her mother that her mother is still alive.
So he goes back and goes back into the house.
When he comes back out, he finds his mother still there.
And she tells him that she’s never going to tell him that he’s still alive, because it’s too late.
“Bridget Jones” (2004)A beautiful love story, one of those that will stay with you long after you’re done watching it.
It was a perfect movie for the holidays, and one of my favorites.
