With Victoria experiencing its second-worst winter in a century, the state’s weather bureau is forecasting severe weather on Wednesday and Thursday.
The bureau says the first wave of rain will reach central and northern Victoria on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
The Bureau of Meteorology says rain and wind are expected to move through southern Victoria on Thursday.
While the bureau does not expect a major storm to form in the area, it warns it is possible the centre of the storm could develop into a tropical depression.
The forecast says a “significant” risk of severe weather is expected in western and central Victoria on the following two days.
